“It all happened on a lovely July evening.” That’s the beginning of the drama “The Canterville Ghost”. And it’s the beginning of this article, too. But all happened on a lovely day in June 2007:
At the school summer festival the English Drama Group presented their play “The Canterville Ghost”. This play is about an American family who moved to England because of the father’s work. They bought “Canterville Chase”, an old English castle. But in this big house there lives a ghost, too. It’s the ghost of the former housekeeper, Sir Simon Canterville. He became a ghost because he murdered his wife.
The English Drama Group has rehearsed for this great performance for nearly the whole school year 2006-2007, but it meant a great pleasure. It proved to be both, hard work and a lot of fun. Mrs Baumgarten and Mrs Bott are the tutors of the English Drama Group. And here are the pupils with their roles in “The Canterville Ghost”:
Jana Hartmann | Mrs Otis |
Laura Merg | Mr Otis |
Alina Bos | Virginia Otis |
Kati Frehmann | Tom Otis |
Marina Pempe | Tim Otis |
Laura Wickert | The ghost |
Khadidja Ghanem | The housekeeper |
Florian Siebert | The butler |
Tim Grundel | Effects behind the stage |

Maybe your name is here next year, too…
